1. Information processed

To monitor and remotely control Live View on Nikon cameras, THE Director discovers camera services on the user’s local network and communicates using PTP/IP. To provide its features, the app may process the following information on the device:

• Camera model, firmware version, and supported capabilities
• Camera connection state, session state, error codes, and diagnostic messages
• Live View JPEG frames and AF region information
• App settings such as layout, MAIN, and monitoring-tool positions
• This installation’s local Initiator identifier for Nikon pairing
• StoreKit subscription products and entitlement state

2. Information not collected

Based on the current code audit, THE Director does not use advertising SDKs, user-tracking SDKs, a proprietary analytics service, a proprietary crash-collection server, or a developer-owned remote backend. Live View images and video are processed on the device for monitoring and are not uploaded by THE Director to the developer’s servers. The app does not provide photo downloading, camera file importing, or Live View recording.

3. Local storage

Layout, UI settings, monitoring-tool positions, the subscription-entitlement cache, and the installation identifier may be stored in local app storage such as UserDefaults. Deleting the app generally deletes this local data as well.

4. Subscriptions

Purchases and subscriptions are processed through Apple StoreKit. Apple manages payment information, receipts, and subscription account records. THE Director does not receive the user’s full payment-card information.

5. Report Issue

Report Issue opens an email composer only when the user explicitly chooses to do so. The description entered by the user and generated diagnostic text may be sent to [email protected]. Diagnostics may include the app and OS versions, camera model and firmware, connection status, and error information.

Diagnostics are designed to redact identifiers such as IPv4 addresses, /Users/ paths, UUIDs, original camera serial numbers, MAC addresses, SSIDs, and installation GUIDs. Live View images, photos, videos, and Wi-Fi passwords are not attached. The user can review the email body and attachments or cancel before sending. The email provider’s privacy policy applies to the email service.

6. Third-party processing

Even though THE Director does not transmit data to its own server, Apple’s App Store and StoreKit, the email provider selected by the user, and local network equipment may process information to provide their respective services. Review each provider’s policy.
